Throughout the year, the Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania plays host to a number of special events, such as the Annual Pennsylvania Wine and Food Festival in June, the Annual Pocono Raceway weekend in June and July, the Annual Pocono Blue’s Festival in July, and the Annual Beer and Food Festival in October.

8TH ANNUAL CHILI AND WING COOK-OFF  - 1/31/2010

The 2009 Winners are in for another shot!  The cook-off will feature live entertainment, great food, and fun for all.  The entire establishment will be bustling with activity.  Judging categories include First, Second, Third, and People's Choice.  Presented by the Hawley-Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber of Commerce.  The cost is $20 per person to taste and judge.  The contest will be held from noon-4pm.

 

 

MONSTER TROUT DERBY  -  1/1/2010 - 1/31/2010

All anglers interested in landing a monster trout and winning one of 100 prizes should be fishing the Lackawaxen River.  In addition to the thousands of fish stocked by the PA Fish and Boat Commission, the Lackawaxen Township Business Owners Association will stock 100 five to ten pound trout between The Settler's Inn in Hawley and the Zane Gray Bridge in Lackawaxen.  This is the third year for the hugely successful Monster Trout Derby.  There is no entry fee or pre-sign up.  Just go fishing, get lucky and win a prize.  All fish are tagged and the tag numbers corresponds with each fish's sponsor.

 

 

2010 LUGE CHALLENGE  -  1/30/2010 - 1/31/2010

The Luge Challenge brings the luge experience to the masses free of charge during the winter season. The program uses a recreational version of the luge sled used in the Olympic Winter Games. It gives youngsters, 10 and older, and adults a chance to feel, first hand, the excitement of luge. There will a DJ spinning music, announcing times and explaining the event. Come hang out, listen to great music, and cheer on your friends!  This thrilling event will begin at 9am until the end of the competition at roughly 3pm both days.  Participants under the age of 18 will need to have a parent/guardian sign a release on their behalf. Walk-on tickets will be issued for participants who have not purchased a lift ticket. 

 

 

BLUE WINTER FESTIVAL  -  1/30/2010 - 1/31/2010

Valley Ski Area and Lower Paradise come and celebrate the winter months with the first annual Blue Winter Festival.  Dog sledding, ice carving from 1-4pm by Sculpted Ice Works, snow sport vendors, food and beverage vendors,  musical entertainment, and snow sports demonstrations are only a few of the activities available to celebrate with your friends and family.

 

 

NASTAR RACES  -  1/31/2010

NASTAR is a recreational race series for all ages.  The race is a modified Giant Slalom Course.  It is a way for races to gauge themselves against racers from around the country.  Medals are awarded.  Registration starts at 2pm at the top of Raceway.  A racer can choose to do two runs for $5 or unlimited runs for $15 each day.

CARIBBEAN ICE  -  2/11/2010 - 2/28/2010

An Icy blast hits the Caribbean!  Come to Crystal Cabin Fever to check out the amazing ice display.  Ride the Pirate Ship Ice Slide, walk through the life size ice grass hut, see the coral reef display, giant ice dolphins, reptiles and birds.  There will also be live pirates, Ice Treasure Maze, children's ice play area and ongoing live ice carving shows.  Be sure to check out the ice carving competitions on February 20 and 24.  Both will be held in the afternoon. Relax by the bonfire.  Enjoy one free hot chocolate with each admission.  There will also be a snack bar, gift shop and free parking.  Admission is $10/adults, $6/children 3-15, and children under 3 are free.

 

 

ICE TEE GOLF TOURNAMENT  -  2/21/2010

The event includes the traditional "Closest to Wally" driving contest.  New features this year include an ice slide and a full-service bar by Sculpted Ice Works Inc.  Local golf pro's will be joining the festivities and will help out on the course and challenge all comers in a "Beat the Pro" contest.  Golfers need to bring a putter and two other clubs.  Colored golf balls will be provided at registration.  The tournament will be held at Lake Wallenpaupack in front of Ehrhardt's Waterfront.  The tournament will be held from 9am-1pm.

 

 

BUCKMAN'S/ BLUE MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE RACE SERIES  -  2/1/2010 - 2/8/2010

The Buckman's/ Blue Mountain Monday night race series is of four open dual slalom races offered to a team, for ages 21 and older.  The men's team consists of a minimum of five racers and a maximum of seven racers.  The women's team is a minimum of three racers and a maximum of five racers.  Awards will be based upon weekly team points.  The race will be held from 6-9pm.       

 

 

BRAIN FREEZE TRIVIA  -  2/3/2010 - 2/24/2010

Brain Freeze Trivia with host Gary Smith of Gary Internet Radio, is the popular version of bar trivia from the company that created World Tavern Poker.  It is open to individuals and teams of up to six players.  There is no fee to play or cover charge to enter Wintergreens.  Brain Freeze Trivia runs every Wednesday.  Registration begins at 5:30pm and the first trivia round begins at 6:30pm.

This Chicago tribute band will have you rocking out to your heart's content. Since 2003, Beginnings has been playing the music of Chicago to audiences in summer festivals, concert halls and hot nightclubs in the New York Metro area. Members of Chicago have acknowledged the bands attention to detail and were impressed by their sound.  Tickets for the show are $10 person.  Doors open at 8:30pm.  Reservations required.

Cross country skis and beginner lessons will be provided for an easy outing to enjoy PEEC's woods in the winter.  In case of no snow, join PEEC for a winter hike.  The cost for cross country skiing is $25/adults and $15/children and will be held from noon-3pm.  Hiking is free of charge.

Kansas is more than a "band."  Kansas is style, dedication, harmony and versatility in creativity.  There have been many transitions which have taken place in the life of the legendary rock group.  Transisitons which allow the lyrics to flow, the music to flourish and ideas to mark its course.  These transitions have kept Kansas apart from other bands and makes one realize the best is yet to come.  Tickets are $29.50 per person.  Doors open at 7:30pm and the show begins at 8pm.

MILHAM TOYOTA CUP KIDS RACE  -  2/10/2010

The race will take place on Raceway and will consist of one run for each participant and will be followed by an awards ceremony and party.  A race release form must be filled out and signed by the parents.  Milham Kids Cup for kids ages 5-17.  The race is free of charge, lift ticket required. Registration from 5pm-6:30pm, and race start time is 6:30pm.
